Beloved for the Fathers’ Sakes

Following are portions of a letter to a church I love, that they may not forget His first love, those who “are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.”
Israelites for whom Moses interceded with his own soul: “Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.”
Kinsmen for whom Paul had “great heaviness and continual sorrow”: “for I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.”
Sharing that heaviness and sorrow, I desire that my fellow workers in the truth pray “to God for Israel… that they might be saved.”

Shalom
