The Promises of Israel

The promises of Israel were one of their greatest assets: they had promises concerning the Messiah, they had promises for human problems in time, they had promises that related to future blessing, the return of the Messiah, the millennial reign of Jesus Christ, and finally the complete fulfillment of all the unconditional covenants. They were all promised to them and their failure to appropriate by faith the promises did not nullify the promises. What it did was get them to the place where they could not appropriate what God had promised and it went on to another generation. And if that did not response there will be another and there will be another and there will be another and there will be a Jew to the end of time and beyond. There will always be the people of Israel because God promised an everlasting seed and the very fact that they exist thought all the adversity is an indication that God has not forgotten, and … some day God is going to RESTORE THEM (The Valley Church, no emphasis added)!18
